1. Bengaluru’s worst urban flooding: Water supply would be disrupted in several areas in the city, warned Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB). Heavy rains also led to city lakes and storm drains overflowing. On Monday, there were traffic jams up to 2 km, and in some areas, cars were floating.

4. Rajpath becomes Kartavya path: Rajpath and Central Vista lawns in the national capital will henceforth be called “Kartavya Path,” meaning the “Path of duty.” The renaming comes amid the ruling BJP government’s push to shed colonial-era names and symbolism in the country.

SC bench’s observation on Hijabs in schools: The Supreme Court, hearing petitions on the Karnataka Hijab row, observed that according to the preamble of our constitution, India is a secular state; therefore there can be no religious-personal practice in government-run institutions. President Murmu bats for education in mother tongue: While presenting Teacher’s day awards to selected teachers from various states, President Droupadi Murmu said that education through the mother tongue would be more effective and lead to the development of original talent in science, literature, and social sciences.
8. Pakistan army accepts the body of dead Lashkar terrorist: For the first time in two decades, Pakistan accepted the body of Tabarak Hussain (32), a slain Lashkar e-Taiba terrorist handed over by the Indian Army. Hussain, who was injured when captured, revealed that the Pakistani intelligence agency paid to recce Indian military posts in Naushera.
9. One of the two Canada mass stabbing suspects found dead: Canada Police said they found one among the two suspects in mass stabbings in Saskatchewan dead. The other suspect is believed to be still in Regina. On Sunday, the duo carried out one of the most brutal stabbings in the recent history of Canada, leaving 10 people dead and 18 injured.
10. China approves the world’s first inhalable Covid-19 vaccine: The National Medical Products Administration of China gave its nod to the world’s first inhalable Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use as boosters. The vaccine is manufactured by Tianjin-based CanSino Biologics.
