  1. Taking cognizance of the “hate crimes, sectarian violence, and anti-India activities” in Canada, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory for Indian nationals in the country to stay vigilant.
  2. The Kerala HC criticized the Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress Party for raising banners and flex boards on road sides along its route. The court also reprimanded Police and other state departments for turning a blind eye to the party flouting court orders.
  3. With a nod from the Bombay High Court, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena was granted permission to hold its annual Dussehra rally from October 2 till 6 at Shivaji Park in Central Mumbai.

  6. The SC bench led by Justice M.R.Shah allowed the transfer of Multiple FIRs against TV anchor Navika Kumar in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and J&K to Delhi. It was during the ‘Prime Time’ show hosted by Ms.Kumar, BJP’s suspended spokesperson Nupur Sharma allegedly made offensive remarks against Prophet Mohammad.
  7. The Varanasi district court admitted a plea seeking carbon-dating of the structure claimed to be ‘Shivling’ in the Gynavapi complex. The mosque management has been given time till the next hearing on September 29 to file their objections.
  8. Bhutan has opened its doors to tourists after two and a half years. The Himalayan Kingdom would charge a Sustainable Development Fee of $200 per visitor per night. For Indians, it would be Rs.1200.
  9. Mexico’s foreign minister Marcelo Luis Ebrard Casaubon, proposed that a committee comprising of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pope Francis, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres could mediate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
