- The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that Maharashtra and West Bengal could witness heavy rainfall, while isolated areas of Uttarakhand could receive heavy to very heavy rainfall between Sep 14 to 16.
- Suvendhu Adhikari and other prominent BJP leaders in West Bengal were detained during their protest march “Nabanna Chalo” in Kolkatta. Police resorted to tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesting BJP workers, as some set a police car on fire.
- Antacid drug Ranitidine, sold as Aciloc, Zinetac, Rantac, etc. will be out of the revised National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM). Earlier, the presence of high levels of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) raised concerns that Ranitidine could cause cancer.
- A fire accident at an Electric Bike showroom in Secunderabad engulfed a luxury hotel on the first floor in flames, killing as many as eight people. Police suspect the explosion of an e-bike or a generator in the showroom as the cause of the fire.
- A bomb threat call to Gurgaon’s Leela Hotel prompted Police to evacuate people from the hotel and press a bomb disposal squad to search its premises. Once the hotel was sanitized, authorities cleared it for normal operations.
- Amazon seller services in India reported a loss of Rs. 3649 crores for FY22. However, Amazon Pay (India) Land Amazon Internet Services (AISPL) have registered a revenue gain of 16 and 65 percent over the last financial year.
- According to government sources, Indian and Chinese troops stationed at Ladakh’s Patrolling Point 15 in the Gogra-Hot springs area of eastern Ladakh have completed the disengagement process.
