  1. IAF’s 91st anniversary celebrations commenced this morning in Prayagraj. The ceremonial parade was held at the Bamrauli Air Force Station. Later during the day, IAF teams performed airshows and aerial stunts, leaving thousands of spectators spellbound.
  2. Rajasthan has announced a Bihar-like caste-based survey in the state. After CM Ashok Gehlot announced, the Rajasthan Social Justice and Empowerment Department ordered the State Planning Department to conduct the survey.
  3. During his morning walk in the national capital, Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Mr. Simon Wong, discovered ‘Singapore’ spelled wrong on a signage. He shared a photo of the signage on X, writing, “It is always good to spell check first.”
  4. The firecracker godown blaze at Souther Bengaluru’s Attibele has turned tragic, killing 14 people. The licensee of the firecracker godown and the owner of the premises have been arrested.
  5. The much-awaited Purple line in Bengaluru, connecting Challaghatta to Kengeri and Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield, will be operational from tomorrow, October 9. However, no formal inaugural event has been planned to flag off the metros.

  7. Royal Enfield has shown the ‘Himalayan 452’ before its official launch. We could see a significant evolution from its predecessor Himalayan 411. Once launched in November, the bike will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS.
  8. Afghan earthquake toll has gone up to 2,053, with 9,240 injured. The 6.3 magnitude quake and its aftershocks have rattled the Herat province, leaving several villages in complete ruin.
  9. Amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, Indian embassies in Israel and Palestine have asked Indians in Tel Aviv to remain alert and approach them if needed. There are nearly 18,000 Indian citizens in Israel and about 85,000 Jews of Indian origin.
  10. CBI conducted a day-long search at Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim’s house and properties of Madan Mitra in connection with the Municipal job scam on Sunday. However, after the raids, Mitra claimed that the agency found nothing incriminating.
