  1. A young but iconic freedom fighter from Tamil Nadu, Tirupur Kumaran, was born on this day, 4th October. When he was barely 27, Kumaran died in a protest march thrashed brutally by the British. However, he held the Indian flag firm, never letting it fall to the ground, even at death.
