1. Made in India attack helicopter inducted into IAF: Indigineously made Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) ‘Prachand’ was inducted into the IAF by Defense minister Rajnath Singh at a ceremony in Jodhpur. Developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) specifically for high-altitude operations, Prachand can fire a range of missiles.   

2. CM Bhagwant Mann says Operation Lotus defeated in Punjab: The Trust vote in Punjab Assembly was passed unanimously, with 93 MLAs supporting the motion. Chief minister Bhagwant Mann, who spoke after the session, asserted that Operation Lotus has been defeated in Punjab.”

3. Canadian Police denies vandalism at Bhagavad Gita park: Canadian Police have denied vandalism to the permanent sign or structures in the park named after the Bhagavad Gita. Earlier, the Indian High Commission in Ottawa took reports of the alleged “hate crime” at the park to local authorities for “prompt action.”

4. Bomb scare in Iranian flight in Indian airspace: After receiving a bomb threat in a China-bound Iranian plane in the Indian Airspace, IAF scrambled its Sukhoi fighter jets and escorted the plane at a safe distance. The bomb scare turned out to be false.  

5. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide escapes Police custody: Deepak Tinu, a suspect in Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder, escaped police custody when the Mansa Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Police in Punjab were moving him in a private vehicle on Saturday night. 

6. Suspected Lashkar operatives held in Hyderabad: Telangana Police have arrested three LeT operatives plotting an attack during Dasara rallies and RSS and BJP meetings. According to reports, Police arrested the LeT men from old Hyderabad neighborhoods. 

7. Journey of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft ends: The life of India’s Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft launched in 2013 has ended. The spacecraft, originally designed to last only for six months, lost all its communication with the ground stations after eight years. 

8. QR codes to track quality and safety of medicines: In a measure to check counterfeit and substandard drugs, the government is set to introduce QR codes on the ‘primary’ pack labels of 300 top-selling drugs.  

9. King Charles III to miss the climate summit in Egypt: King Charles III would skip the upcoming climate summit in Egypt. The monarch is said to have decided this after PM Liz Truss objected to him attending the conference. 

10. Scientist Svante Paabo wins Nobel prize for his research on Human Evolution: Swedish Scientist Svante Paabo has won 2022’s Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine “for his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution.” A statement from the Nobel prize committee added that Paabo’s research has given rise to a completely new scientific discipline called ‘Paleogenomics.’
