  • Maldives President-elect Mohamed Muizzu said his country intends to be “fully independent” and therefore wants Indian troops to leave its soil. However, he added that removing Indian military personnel doesn’t mean they would be replaced with military troops from China or any other country.
  • Indian Railway plans to operate an Inter-state Vande Bharat train connecting Chennai, Bengaluru, and Ernakulam. It would be the third Vande Bharat train to ply in Kerala.

  • ED has arrested Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress leader Jyoti Priya Mallick for his alleged role in the state’s multi-crore ration distribution scam. Malick, according to TOI, said he is a “victim of a great conspiracy.”
  • The Congress party in Telangana has announced its second list for the state assembly election. The party has fielded former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin from Jubilee Hills for the Nov 30 elections.
