  • Google has rolled out its generative AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) that can create Images based on user text inputs. However, the image-generating feature is currently available only in English in the US, particularly to 18-year-old and older people who opted into the SGE experiment. 
  • After Israel warned the 1.1 million people living in Northern Gaza to move south for safety before its ground offensive, civilians in large numbers are fleeing by vehicles and on foot. Urging Israel to withdraw its orders, the UN has warned of “devastating humanitarian consequences.” 
  • In a daring rescue operation, Israel’s Flotilla 13 elite unit stormed the Sufa outpost, eliminated 60 Hamas militants, and arrested 26, including Muhammad Abu A’ali, the Deputy Commander of the Hamas Southern Naval Division. Israeli forces secured around 250 hostages alive.  
  • Passenger ferry services between India and Sri Lanka are set to recommence after forty years on October 14, from Nagapattinam in TN. Both nations had signed an MoU on Passenger Transportation by Sea earlier to boost regional trade and tourism and stronger people-to-people ties. 
  • The IT Department has recovered 42 crore rupees in a raid on a former woman corporator’s house in Bengaluru. Telangana FM and BRS leader Harish Rao has claimed the money seized was meant for Congress funding in the state. 
  • A blast at a Shiite mosque in Pol-e-Khomri – the provincial capital of Baghlan, during the Friday prayers, has killed 15 people. Forty people have been injured in the blast.
