  1. The Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue is finally complete, with all 41 trapped workers safely pulled out. Along with SDRF, NDRF, and the Rat-hole miners with Indian Army Engineers who joined at the crucial final stage, a significant part was also played by International tunneling expert Arnold Dix.
  2. The Madras HC has issued a stay order against ED summons to district collectors in Tamil Nadu in the sand mining case, calling ED’s attempt a “fishing expedition.” However, the court said it is not imposing any stay on the ongoing investigation.
  3. An infant trafficking gang involved in stealing babies from Tamil Nadu and selling them to childless couples in Bengaluru was busted today. Seven members of the gang are under detention. Investigation hints at a larger network, with some doctors in Tamil Nadu hand-in-glove in the crime.
  4. In Kota, another student hangs to death. Faureed Hussain from West Bengal, preparing for NEET entrance exams for one year, was found dead in his rented accommodation in the Waqf Nagar area. Faureed’s is the 25th student suicide in Kota this year.
  5. As Delhi’s Air Quality improves, the Center’s pollution control panel has removed restrictions under Stage III of GRAP, lifting restrictions imposed on Petrol and Diesel cars in the entire National Capital Region, with immediate effect.
  6. In Kerala, six-year-old girl Abigel Sara Reji, abducted for ransom from Oyur in Kollam district, was rescued today after S N College Student Dhananjaya noticed a woman abandoning the child and leaving the Asramam Ground.
  7. In Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar’s move to cut holidays for Hindu festivals and add additional days from Muslim festivals like Eid, Bakrid, and Muharram has come under severe criticism from the opposition, mainly the BJP. Some dubbed the state as “Islamic Republic of Bihar.”
  8. Karnataka HC said marriage does not grant a woman power to access her husband’s Aadhar information unilaterally, underlining the importance of autonomy and protection of privacy rights of individuals within the ambit of the law.
  9. In a statewide campaign against loudspeakers, the UP government has until now removed over 3000 loudspeakers from religious premises of various faiths. Police have instructed places operating loudspeakers with permission to stick to permitted decibel levels.
  10. Malaysia on Monday announced that Indians and Chinese would have a 30-day visa-free entry from December 1. Sri Lanka recently introduced visa-free entry for Indians and visitors from six other countries.
