  • MeitY plans to develop a website wherein users can inform the Ministry of any IT violations like deepfakes by social media platforms. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the Ministry will help them file an FIR. 
  • In Karnataka, the ruling Congress government withdrew the CBI probe against Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. Law Minister HK Patil said the previous BJP-led government’s decision to hand over the case against Shivakumar to CBI was “not by the law.”    
  • Qatar has accepted the Indian government’s appeal against the death sentence given to eight ex-navy personnel. India Today, quoting a source, said the Qatari court is studying India’s appeal, and the next hearing is likely soon. 
  • Nilesh Dalsaniya, a 21-year-old Dalit man, was allegedly beaten up by his Woman employer, Vibhuti Patel, and six others for demanding salary for the days he worked before being abruptly sacked. Dalsaniya also complained that they forced him to carry her footwear in his mouth. 
  • Delhi’s Air Quality has slipped to the ‘severe’ category, with AQI standing around 400 this morning. Air Quality in the national capital showed signs of improvement as it remained in the ‘very poor’ category for six consecutive days. 
  • The Maharashtra ATS team has arrested a Kerala man who had threatened to blow up Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport if “one million US dollars in Bitcoin” was not paid to him. 
  • Afghanistan embassy in India closes permanently. An official statement from the Afghan embassy attributed the closure to “persistent challenges from the Indian government.” It also clarified that the decision was not due to “internal conflict” between diplomats.
