  • Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has blamed the BJP for the UT’s worsened AQI after Diwali. He said although the BJP controls the Police Force in Delhi, Haryana, and UP, it did nothing to prevent the sale of firecrackers in the Delhi-NCR. 
  • As many as 1500 Myanmar nationals with 39 Myanmar Army personnel crossed the border seeking shelter in India amid a gunbattle between Myanmar’s Armed Forces and Rebel Outfits in villages close to the Indian border. On Monday night, they surrendered before the Mizoram police at Zokhawthar.  
  • On Monday, an earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Ritcher Scale struck Rangareddy district, some 25 km east of Hyderabad in Telangana. According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake occurred 5 km below the surface.  
  • Rescue teams plan to push in a 900mm diameter pipe to evacuate those trapped inside the Tunnel that collapsed on the Brahmakhal-Yamunotri National Highway. Rescuers are in touch with trapped workers through Radio Walkie-Talkies.  
  • Dabur Group Chairman Mohit V. Burman and Director Gaurav V. Burman are named in Mumbai Police’s FIR in the Mahadev Betting App Case. However, Dabur’s official statement called it “a mischievous act driven by malicious intent and is devoid of any facts.”
  • In Kerala, Special POCSO Court Judge K Soman has pronounced the death penalty for Ashwaq Alam for raping and murdering a 5-year-old girl child in Aluva on July 28. The verdict comes on the 11th anniversary of the POCSO Act. 
  • Delhi University has announced admissions for 29 certificate courses that interested candidates can join without any entrance test. Courses offered vary from 3-10 months for those who completed class 12/awaiting results. The Campus of Open Learning (COL): col.du.ac.in.
  • The Election Commission of India has sent notices to the AAP for its ‘disparaging, insulting and defamatory’ posts against PM Narendra Modi on Social Media. EC has sought an explanation from AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal by November 16.
