- Voting in Himachal Pradesh concluded today. The counting of votes would happen on December 8. More than 55 lakh adults, of whom 1.25 lakh voters above 80 years, were eligible for voting.
- Heavy rains lashed Chennai today, with some areas recording more than 80 mm of rainfall. Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration had announced a rain holiday for schools and colleges in 26 districts, including Chennai. According to Tamil Nadu Weatherman, the state would receive more rain in the next two days.
- Supreme Court has asked the Central government to explain the delay in the appointment of Judges based on the recommendations made by its collegium. A simple notice has been sent to the Ministry of Law and Justice seeking a response before November 28.
- The Congress party in Gujarat released its election manifesto ‘Jan Ghoshna Patra 2022-27.’ It was unveiled by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot along with Jagdish Thakor, President of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday.
- Tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR and several parts of Uttarakhand after an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 struck near Silanga town in Nepal. The quake today is the third such incident in Nepal within a week.
- A junior college student in Hyderabad was assaulted by his seniors in his hostel room and was forced to chant “Allah hu Akbar.” The undergraduate law student at IFHE was beaten up for allegedly making objectionable comments about Prophet Muhammad.
- Bengal MP Mahua Moitra, one of the petitioners in the SC who appealed for the reversal of remission granted to Bilkis Bano convicts, mocked the re-nomination of Godhra BJP MLA Chandrasinh Raulji as “Gujarat Model.”
- Sixteen Indians, part of a multinational crew of 26 sailors, under the custody of Equitorial Guniea after their cargo ship MT Heroic Idun was detained, have sent an SOS to the Indian government.
- A Kerala bride signed a contract on a stamp paper stating that she would permit her would-be husband to spend time with his friends till 9 pm even after marriage and that she would not disturb him by calling during that time.
- Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said he would accept responsibility for Punjab farm fires, on behalf of his party and the AAP government in Punjab.
