1. Supreme Court has ordered the release of all convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case. Among the seven convicts in the case, who have spent more than three decades in prison, AG Perarivalan was released on May 18, 2022. 

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day tour to four states, inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Chennai. He also unveiled the ‘Statue of Prosperity in honor of Sri Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.
