  • In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP has promised a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,700/quintal for wheat and Rs 3,100/quintal for paddy in its election manifesto; also, LPG cylinders at Rs.450 for beneficiaries under its ‘Ladli Bahna’ scheme.

  • A head-on collision between two buses on the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway killed at least five people while injuring 60 others. The accident occurred around 4 am on Saturday when a SETC bus hit the median and collided with an Omnibus. 
  • ED provisionally attached assets worth Rs.50 crores of Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp. The probe agency is investigating Munjal over a money laundering charge against him. 
  • On Friday, the Rupee touched its record low of Rs. 83..48 against the dollar. Intervention by RBI, which purportedly sold around $ 1 billion, helped Indian currency cut losses. 
  • In Chennai’s Kothwal Chavadi, a 39-year-old man frustrated that god didn’t answer his repeated prayers threw a petrol bomb at a temple. The man was drunk when subdued and taken into custody.
