  1. Taliban supports Kashmir terror outfits: A Security Council Committee report of the UN suggests that the Taliban supports terror groups JeM and LeT in Afghanistan. However, the Taliban government has been in denial, insisting that no terrorist fighters are in Afghanistan. 
  2. J&K police shoot down weapon laden drone: The Jammu and Kashmir police shot down a drone from Pakistan with a payload of seven magnetic bombs and many UBGL grenades at Rajbagh in the Kathua district. In another incident on Saturday, the security forces seized 49kg of Narcotics in Bagyaldara, near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch District. 
  3. Famous Punjabi singer shot dead by a gangster: Singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead at the point-blank range near Jawaharke village in Mansa District, Punjab. He had contested as a Congress candidate in the Punjab assembly elections. Goldy Brar (a gangster based in Canada) took responsibility for the murder in a Facebook post. 
  4. India Post tests mail delivery using drones: First time in the country’s postal history, the Indian Postal Department successfully tested mail delivery using a drone. The pilot project was taken up in Gujarat, from Habay village in Bhuj taluka to Ner village in Bhachau taluka of Kutch, covering a distance of 46km in 25 minutes. 
  5. CMC study finds mixing vaccines will yield better immune: A team of scientists from the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore studying the mixed-vaccine trials, have found positive outcomes. According to them, Covishield as a booster dose after the Covaxin primary dose yields 6-10 times higher antibody levels. However, they are awaiting a nod from the center.   
  6. Monsoon in Kerala: The southwest monsoon has arrived at the Kerala coast three days ahead of schedule. Usually, the onset of monsoon happens by June 1. However, IMD and Skymet had predicted an early arrival of monsoon and a ‘normal’ rainfall this year, with a 99 percent long period average (LPA).  
  7. Gusty winds and thunderstorms hit Delhi: Several parts of Delhi witnessed thunderstorms and hail, bringing traffic to a literal halt. Flight schedules, too, were affected due to the bad weather. Residents of the capital were quick to post videos of uprooted trees and cars getting pushed by forceful winds on social media.   
  8. Nepal plane crash — 21 bodies recovered: Nepal Civil Aviation Authority said 21 bodies were recovered from the Tara Air flight crash site. A spokesperson of Tara Air informed local media that the Canadian-built aircraft headed to Jomson slammed into a mountain and broke to pieces.
  9.  Tata Motors to buy Ford India’s Sanand plant: Tata Motors announced that its subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), together with Ford India Private Limited (FIPL), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday with the Gujarat government to acquire Ford India’s Sanand Manufacturing facility. With the proposed investment, TPEML would be able to roll out 300,000 units per annum. 
  10. West Nile Virus kills a 47-year-old Kerala man: Puthenpurakkal Joby, aged 47, admitted to the Thrissur government medical college hospital for West Nile fever, died on Sunday. Following the incident, the state health department said it has taken proactive decisions and has directed authorities to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
