1. Mob led by women secure militants from security forces: In Manipur, Security forces had to let go of some Meitei militant group KYKL members after a siege by a mob of 1500 led by women. Army sources said they took a mature decision to call off their operation from Itham Village in Imphal East to not risk civilian lives.
2. FM hits back at Obama: In a stinging retaliation to Barack Obama’s words, FM Nirmala Sitharaman said the US “bombed six Muslim-majority nations” under his rule. The former US President said earlier, “I will raise the subject of Indian Muslims with PM Modi,” in an interview with CNN.
3. Assam battles deluge: The flood situation in Assam remains grim though the water has begun receding in some of the affected districts. Over 4 lac people are affected and nearly 8,469.56 hectares of crop area were damaged due to the floods.

5. Landslide in Himachal kills 290 goats: The Monsoon in Himachal Pradesh has brought heavy rains to the state, triggering landslides in many places. An Avalanche near Kugti Jot in the Bharamour Area of the Chamba district killed nearly 290 goats injuring 50.
6. PM Modi honored with “Order of the Nile” title: PM Modi, on his two-day visit to Egypt, became the recipient of Egypt’s highest state honor “Order of the Nile.” Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi conferred the honor on the Indian Prime Minister.
7. Goods trains meet with an accident: Two goods trains collided with each other at the Ondagram railway station in the Bankura district of West Bengal. The accident resulted in the derailment of several wagons and engines of the goods trains.

9. Go First gets lenders’ support: In a huge relief to the beleaguered airline Go First, lenders approved Rs.400 crore in funding. In May, the airline filed for voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
10. Asteroids get Indian names: Four Indian scientists, including Ritu Parekh and Kumar Venkatramani, have been featured in the list of 198 significant contributors in the domain of astrophysics. The Working Group Small Bodies Nomenclature of the International Astronomical Union honored them by naming 198 asteroids after them.
