1. Tailor beheaded for post supporting Nupur Sharma: In Udaipur, a tailor was beheaded by two terrorists for sharing a post supporting Nupur Sharma. In videos purportedly released by them, the men are seen killing the tailor and saying they have avenged the insult to Prophet Mohammed. They also issue a threat to PM Modi.

2. BJP asks the governor for floor test: Devandra Fadnavis met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and has requested him to instruct Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to hold a floor test, stating that the MVA government has lost its majority. 

3. Fresh ED summons for Sanjay Raut: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has given a fresh summons to Sanjay Raut, asking him to appear on Friday. Earlier, the Shiv Sena MP had sought more time to present himself before the agency. 

4. Karnataka government issues new covid guidelines: Amid a spike in covid cases in Karnataka, the government has issued new health guidelines. As per protocols released, health administration would consider an apartment a small cluster if 3-5 people test positive, and a Rapid Antigen Test will be conducted on other symptomatic people residing on the floor.

6. Migrant tragedy in San Antonio: In a major tragedy involving human trafficking, an abandoned tractor-trailer with 50 people dead was found in San Antonio. The vehicle was smuggling migrants from Mexico to the US. 

7. Kerala CM replies to allegations: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in the assembly that allegations linking him to the gold smuggling case are politically motivated. He also added that the accused in the case have a Sangh Parivar connection.  

8. Buiding crash at Kurla kills 19: As many as 19 people died when a building in Kurla came crashing down. Located in Kurla East, the building is said to be 47-year old. The mishap has also left 14 people injured. 

9. Four Indian metros among favorite places for studies: According to the latest QS Best Student-Cities Ranking, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru have featured in the top 140 cities worldwide that international students have preferred. 

10. BRICS all set to grow: Iran and Argentina have applied for membership in the BRICS group to join Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Citing applications from the two new aspirants, Russia said it’s indicating the West’s failure.
