1. 18L tonnes of wheat exported by India as aid: At the ‘Uniting for Global Food Security conference in Berlin, Union food secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said India shipped nearly 18L tonnes of wheat as aid through a government-to-government mechanism. 

2. India after the world’s biggest gold coin: Center has reinitiated a hunt for the world’s biggest gold coin. The coin, weighing 12 kg gold, was last seen in possession of Hyderabad Nizam VIII Mukarram Jha.

3. Pilgrim deaths rise: As many as 200 Char Dham pilgrims have died since the yatra began this year two months ago. Health officials have warned pilgrims to stay extra cautious, with a fall in temperature and suspension of helicopter services due to heavy rain. 

4. Rebellion grows in Shiv Sena: Higher education minister of the MVA government, Uday Samant, is the latest one to join the rebel camp led by Eknath Shinde. Samant is also the eighth minister to leave the Thackrey cabinet.

5. Sarbjit’s sister no more: Dalbir Kaur (67), who led a campaign to secure the release of her brother Sarabjit Singh from Pakistani jail, died in Amristar following a heart attack. Sarabjit was lodged in a Pakistani prison in 1991. However, in 2013 he died after being brutally attacked by the prison inmates.  

6. India-Argentina bilateral meeting: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez had their first bilateral meeting in Munich. Both leaders spoke on deepening commercial and cultural ties between the nations. 

7. West to discuss Iran: Along the sidelines of the G7 gathering, the UK, France, Germany, and the US would be meeting to discuss Iran’s nuclear program. Oil exports by Iran, and the country’s willingness to scale back on its nuclear ambitions, will be discussed in the meeting. 

8. Escalating power crisis in Pakistan: Pakistan’s power crisis is witnessing an escalation after it failed to finalize a natural gas contract for July. To conserve energy, authorities in Pakistan have ordered offices, malls, and factories to shut off early.

9. WHO on Monkeypox: Though the Monkeypox outbreak outside Africa is an evolving threat, the disease is not yet a global health emergency, said the World Health Organization (WHO).

10. Tripura by-election result day violence: The result day of the Tripura by-poll election saw violence and counter-violence by BJP and Congress cadres. In the by-poll, BJP has won 3 seats and Congress 1.
