1. Droupadi Murmu, the 15th President of India: Droupadi Murmu (64) has won the recently held Presidential elections. She is the second woman, also the first tribal to adorn India’s top post.  

2. AAP’s free electricity pitch in Gujarat: Vying victory in the upcoming Gujarat assembly polls later this year, Arvind Kejriwal (Aam Aadmi Party) has promised 300 units of free and uninterrupted power supply to households in the state.

5. NCP dissolves party units: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has dismissed all departments and cells of the party. The move comes weeks after the coup in Shiv Sena, which resulted in rebel leader Eknath Shinde becoming the CM of Maharashtra. 

6. Cheetah reintroduction project: Eight cheetahs from Namibia are to arrive at the Kuno wildlife sanctuary in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh in the first ever trans-continental Cheetah translocation. 

7. CIA points fingers at China for SL crisis: CIA chief Bill Burns said Sri Lanka is suffering economic and political catastrophe because it made “dumb bets” on its financial future by relying on High-debt Chinese investments.  

8. White House clarifies after Biden says, “I have cancer”: After US President Joe Biden’s shocking claim that he has cancer, the White House has clarified that the President was referring to his skin cancer removal before assuming office.  

9. India’s largest heroin seizure: As per Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) data, over 5600 kg of Heroin (banned narcotics) valued at around Rs.40,000 crores was confiscated by India’s law enforcement agencies last year.

10. Maruti unveils its all-new Grand Vitara: Maruti has unveiled its new Grand Vitara models with hybrid power-terrain features. It is touted as Maruti’s version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hryder.
