  • A Guwahati-bound IndiGo flight — 6E 5319 — from Mumbai had to make an emergency landing in Bangladesh’s Dhaka today as it was the nearest available airport. Initially, bad weather conditions and low visibility at the Guwahati airport prompted the captain to redirect the fight to Bhubaneshwar. However, as the runway was closed, he had to opt for Dhaka airport. 
  • IAF, collaborating with the Government of Maharashtra, is hosting ‘Mumbai Air Show 2024’ from January 12 to January 14. Aerobatic teams will perform an hour-long aerial display at the Marine Drive around noon on these days. 
  • India has objected to UK High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott’s visit to Mirpur in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on January 10, terming the visit an “Infringement of India’s Sovereignty and territorial integrity.” 
  • The Defence Ministry has said that casual Paid Laborers(CPLs) working with Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for various infrastructure projects will be covered under a term insurance scheme for a sum of Rs.10 lakh, which will given to the next of kin if a worker dies during project works. 
  • The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued its fourth summons to Delhi CM and APP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, directing him to appear on January 18, for its Money laundering probe in connection with irregularities in the Delhi excise policy 2021-22.
