  • BJP has gained a significant victory, winning three of the four states for which votes were counted today. The party has won Rajasthan with 115/200 seats, Chhattisgarh with 54/90, and Madhya Pradesh with 163/230. While Congress secured 64/119 in Telangana to oust BRS.
  • Though Congress won Telangana, its State Party Chief A Revanth Reddy, also State Cheif Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were defeated in Kamareddy constituency by BJP candidate Katipally Venkata Ramana Reddy by a margin of 6,741 votes. Incidentally, AIMIM retained all its 7 seats.
  • Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry are gearing up to face Cyclone Michaung. NDRF has stationed 18 teams. Railways have canceled 144 trains for safety reasons. The TN govt has declared a public holiday for Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Thiruvallur districts on Monday. 
  • Bhopal Gas Tragedy: It was on Dec 3, 1984, a Methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas leak in the Union Carbamide factory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, occurred, resulting in the tragic loss of 5,295 people, scores of animals, and injuries to as many as 5,68,292 persons. 
  • India has launched the world’s first indigenous portable hospital ‘Aarogya Maitri Aid Cube,” designed under the project ‘Bhishm.’ It can treat 200 types of casualties and provide rapid response and comprehensive care. The portable hospital that can be deployed in 12 minutes has 72 detachable mini-cubes.
