  1. BSP Supremo and former Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati has anointed her nephew Akash Anand as her political successor. However, for now, Mayawati would continue to lead the party. Akash is currently the party’s national coordinator.
  2. Gunmen who killed Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have been arrested by joint teams of Rajasthan Police’s SIT and Delhi Police’s Special Cell. The two shooters, Nitin Fauji and Rohit Singh Rathore, were caught from a hideout in Chandigarh.

  5. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has made Air-conditioning mandatory for cabins of trucks from October 1, 2025. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had in the past said he is pushing for air-conditioned cabins for truck drivers as they work in extreme heat conditions.
  6. In Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, several automakers, including Tata Motors, Nissan, Suzuki, and Volkswagen, have announced complimentary roadside assistance, comprehensive vehicle checks, and repair of flood-related damages caused by Cyclone Michaung.
  7. In Chhattisgarh, BJP has named Tribal Leader and Former Union Minister Vishnu Deo Sai as the new Chief Minister of the state. Sai is a Lok Sabha Member from Raigarh, a member of BJP’s National Working Committee, and has served as President of BJP’s Chhattisgarh Unit between 2020-2022.
  8. The much-awaited judgment on the petitions challenging the Center’s decision to abrogate the provisions of Article 370 would be pronounced by a five-judge bench headed by CJI D Y Chandrachud on Monday (December 11).
