1. Top Bureaucrats reshuffled in Delhi: In the national capital, after the CBI raid at Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence, over an alleged excise scam, Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena reshuffled a dozen Bureaucrats between various departments of the government.

2. Flood-like situation after Dehradun cloudburst: Uttarakhand government rushed State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team to Dehradun after it was hit by a cloudburst early this morning around 2.45 am. Meanwhile, torrential rains in Himachal Pradesh have forced authorities to shut schools in Mandi and Kullu districts.   

3. Center imposes new rules to recover state power dues: Thirteen Indian states will not be able to buy or sell electricity at spot power exchanges, as they have cumulative dues of $640 million towards generators and transmission companies. The new rules were introduced in June to force the states to make timely payments.

4. Noida twin towers demolition: More than 5000 residents of the Supertech twin towers of Noida will vacate by 7 am on August 28, as Edifice engineering, the company entrusted with demolishing the buildings, will carry out a controlled explosion to bring them down.

5. Adani to acquire DB Power: Adani Power, on Friday, announced that it would acquire DB Power for Rs.7017 crore. DB Power, owned by the Dainik Bhaskar Group, has two 600 Mw thermal power plants in Chhattisgarh. 

6. Expected timeline for 5G services: A wider rollout of 5G services in the top 10 Indian cities could take about 6-8 months. However, the extent of coverage might vary between one-quarter of a city to its half, depending upon the strategy of telecom companies. 

7. Akasa Air to increase flights by September end: Akasa Air expects to operate around 150 weekly flights by the end of September. The airline, which commenced its operations on August 7, between Bengaluru-Mumbai routes, plans to induct 72 airplanes to its fleet in the next five years. 

8. Proposal on Chabahar port lease extension by 18 months: India is examining the proposal from “The Port and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran” to extend India’s short-term lease agreement of the Chabahar port by another one and a half years. Union Shipping and Ports Minister Sarbananda Sonawal could take up the proposal during his upcoming visit to Iran. 

9. Pizza Hut in Japan to introduce Rice base for pizzas as wheat gets pricey: With global wheat prices skyrocketing due to the Russia-Ukraine war, Japan’s Pizza Hut plans to offer a min-pizza selection with a rice base. The new offering will feature in the regular menu if the demand grows stronger. 

10. Experts advise updating devices vulnerable Apple devices: Apple has disclosed the presence of security flaws in some iPhones, iPads, iPods, and Macs that could give attackers access to the complete device. Experts have advised users to update vulnerable devices.
