Today, India celebrated its 74th Republic Day with pomp. In the national capital, parades by armed forces, cultural tableaux from the states, union territories, and government departments, 21 Gun Salute from 105mm ‘Made-in-India’ field guns, and display of indigenous weapons in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and guest of honor Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi marked the occasion.

Highlighting Nari Shakti (Women Power and Women empowerment), several all-women contingents, including those from CRPF and the Navy, marched on the Kartavya Path. An Egyptian armed force contingent, with 144 soldiers, also new defense recruits from the Agnipath Scheme, Agniveers, took part in the Republic Day parade. Dance and cultural performances by ‘Vande Bharatam’ artists were one of the highlights of this year’s R-day celebrations.
