A serious mix-up of brides that left netizens in splits happened in Aslana village, located 20 km from Ujjain.
On the 5th of May, Rameshlal was getting his three daughters married to grooms, Rahul from Kirakhedi village and Bhola and Ganesh from Dangwada. The brides, decked in similar dresses and covered in ghoongat, were taken inside a room to perform ‘Mai Mata Pooja.’
However, in the mele of darkness following a power outage, brides Nikita and Karishma were paired up with the wrong grooms, and the wedding rituals continued. But soon, some sharp, observant members spotted the mix-up and alerted the families.
A brief dispute ensued between the family members, with brides marrying the wrong grooms. Nevertheless, they soon came to a settlement agreeing to repeat the rituals the following day with the right pair of grooms and brides.
The incident invoked some funny banter among netizens, also mudslinging between Congress and BJP over the power shortage in Madhya Pradesh.
