In Uttarakhand, the ruling BJP wins 48 out of 70 seats to gain a clear majority. However, what’s new is it is the first time the hill state is re-electing a ruling party to power.
The BJP highlighted its infrastructure work like Char Dham development projects, the all-weather road and reconstruction work around Kedarnath, and the Rishikesh- Karnprayag line. Also, One Rank One Pension to attract Armed personnel and Ghasiyari Yojana had launched for women.
The only apparent setback for the party in this election is its existing Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lost his seat in Khatima. A new Chief Ministerial face will emerge soon from the BJP’s Uttrakhand party unit, or the party may opt for a National leader to command the state.
