In Manipur, BJP is making a solid comeback with a tally of 32 seats from 60 constituencies. On the other hand, the National People’s Party (NPP) wins seven seats; NPF and Congress win five each, and JDU secures six seats.

Amit Shah congratulated the BJP’s incumbent Cheif Minister N Biren Singh, who defeated his Congress rival P Saratchandra Singh with a margin of 18,271 votes in the Heingang seat of Manipur. He also hailed the resolve of PM Narendra Modi to create a prosperous North East, which he said has earned him a special place in the heart of our NE people.

By around 5 pm today, the party’s vote share stayed at 37.5 percent compared to the vote share of the Congress party at 16.53 percent. By 8 pm, BJP won 27 seats in the 60 member state assembly while leading in five more seats.
