The sky over Khatkar kalan is anointed with the color of revolution (Rang de Basanti). With references made to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, there is a mood of triumph and hope. Men could be seen sporting yellow turban and stoles, including the man of the day Bhagwant Mann who had just sworn in as the CM of Punjab.
It is a ceremonious moment for the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, which won the election with a historic mandate.
Before taking the oath, Mr. Bhagwant Mann set the mood for the day with an inspiring message. He said he wants the entire three crore people of Punjab to swear in along with him.
It is now the responsibility of the Chief Minister and his team of ministers from AAP to sustain that democratic spirit. But, above all, the moment’s mood should start reflecting in action.
There is much to be done in the state. Drug and alcohol abuse have been plaguing a significant percentage of the youth in the state. Farmers need agriculture to be rewarding. Economic prospects within the state must improve to tell people that they need not immigrate to the West to progress.
The people of Punjab have done their part by giving a decisive mandate. Now, it is for the Newly elected Government headed by CM Bhagwant Mann to fulfill the wishes of the people of Punjab.
