Sikhs For Justice chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has issued threats to Air India flights that would operate in and out of Canada on November 19. In a recorded video, the Khalistani terrorist has asked Sikhs to avoid traveling on Air India on and after the said date, warning their lives could be in danger. He has also warned the Indian government to shut the Indira Gandhi International Airport on 19th November.

Indian High Commissioner to Ottawa Sanjay Kumar said the embassy would take up the threat with Canadian Authorities, and they would be asked to provide enhanced security to Air India planes operating from and terminating in Canada. Pannum’s threat reminds the bombing of Air India plane Kanishka by Khalistani terrorists in 1985.

Further, on November 19, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final match will happen at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Khalistani extremist Pannum’s reference to the match as the “World Terror Cup” has raised security concerns. The Canadian government’s muted silence to high-decibel threats from terrorist elements like Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is not going to augur well for diplomatic dies between India and Canada.
