Rahul Bajaj, the iconic businessman of India, the Chairman Emeritus of Bajaj Auto, died on Saturday due to cardiac and respiratory ailments.
He gave India the dream of scooters and drove Bajaj Auto from a company worth 17.2 crores to a 12,000 crore power-packed establishment. He achieved this remarkable feat by sharing the aspirations of the Indian middle class.
The auto major’s most hummed and most memorable campaign, ‘Hamara Bajaj,’ launched in 1989, made inroads into the hearts of millions of Indians.
He also diversified into the businesses of Finance, Investment, Insurance, Steel and Special Alloys, Lamps and Home appliances, Manufacturing material handling equipment, and others.
Rahul Bajaj was honored with Padma Bhushan in the year 2001. Known for speaking his mind, he served as a parliamentarian in the Rajya Sabha between 2006 and 2010. Tributes are flowing from all spectrums of society, hailing his contributions to India and the Industry.
