The LuLu Group International opened its India’s first shopping mall at Kochi in 2013, then at Thiruvananthapuram in 2021, and at Bengaluru in 2021. And it is going to come up in Lucknow and Hyderabad (The date is yet to be announced).
Kochi’s LuLu mall, which has a floor area of 1,850,000 sq ft, is a bit hit among locals, people from other districts, states, and nations. It has become a go-to destination in Kerala.
The mall had been visited by 158M people with an entry of 15M four-wheelers and 6M two-wheelers. For the first time in Kerala, top 100 plus brands came up in one place with 225 outlets.
LuLu Group is set to invest Rs 3500 crore in Tamil Nadu. The MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) said its first shopping mall in Tamil Nadu is to come up in Chennai in 2024. The MoU was signed in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin.
LuLu Group also launched its first LuLu hypermarket in TN in Coimbatore’s Lakshmi Mills compound and during August 2022.
LuLu group investment in TN will create jobs for around 5,000 people. MA Yusuff Ali quoted TN CM MK Stalin supports and provides excellent infrastructure support to the investors, and the group is happy to explore the opportunities not only in Chennai and Coimbatore but also in cities like Salem, Tiruchirapalli, Madurai, and more.
